Diorama Weather ("the app") turns a photo of your home into an AI-generated diorama that changes with the weather. This policy explains what data the app uses and why. The short version: no account is required, we don't sell data, and the only personal content we store is what you upload to make your diorama.

Information the app uses

• Location — with your permission, your device location is used to fetch local weather (via Apple WeatherKit and the Open-Meteo air quality service). Coordinates are sent to those services to retrieve forecasts; the app does not keep a history of your movements.
• Photos you upload — when you generate a diorama, the photo you choose is uploaded to our servers (Google Firebase) and processed by Google's Gemini AI to create your diorama images. Your original photo and the generated artwork are stored against an anonymous installation ID so your purchases can be restored, and are never shared publicly. When you choose to animate a diorama, only the resulting generated diorama image — never your original photo — is sent to Kling (a video-generation service operated by Kuaishou Technology) to produce the animation. • Anonymous installation ID — the app signs in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
• Purchases — payments are processed entirely by Apple. We receive only anonymized transaction confirmations, never your payment details.
• Usage analytics — the app collects anonymized usage events (e.g. which screens are used, whether a generation succeeds) via Google Analytics for Firebase to improve the product. This data is not used for advertising.
• Saved cities and settings — stored on your device and in your personal iCloud key-value storage so they survive reinstalls. We cannot read your iCloud data.

Third-party services

The app relies on: Apple WeatherKit (forecasts), Open-Meteo (air quality), Google Firebase (storage, authentication, analytics, cloud functions), Google Gemini (AI image generation), and Kling / Kuaishou Technology (AI animation generation). Your original uploaded photo is only ever processed by Apple, Google, and our own cloud functions. Only the AI-generated diorama image — never your original photo, location, or any identifier — is sent to Kling, and only when you choose to animate a diorama.

International data transfers

Animation is generated by Kling, operated by Kuaishou Technology, a company based in China, via its Singapore API endpoint. If you animate a diorama, the generated diorama image is therefore processed on servers outside the United States and the European Union. We do not send your original photo, your location, or any account identifier to Kling. Kling's handling of the image it receives is governed by its own terms and privacy policy; we store the finished animation on our own servers.

Data retention and deletion

Generated homes you delete in the app are flagged as deleted immediately and excluded from any restore. To request complete removal of all stored content tied to your installation, email us from the Contact Support link in Settings and we will erase it. Content processed by third-party AI providers (Google, Kling) is subject to those providers' own retention policies.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
